Spaniard Carlos Sainz won the first stage of the 2011 Dakar Rally Car category. Starting from the first position with a Volkswagen Race Touareg 3 12:20:00 Sainz leads the overall standings, followed by Stéphane Peterhansel leads the latest generation of BMW X3 CC winning the 2nd time in the overall standings 12:23:00.
